A Short Guide on Fixing Stutters and Lags in Saints Row 2022 – Saints Row 2022 is a reboot of the original Saints Row Game developed by Deep Silver Volition and published by Deep Silver. The events occur in the fictional city of Santo Ileso in Southwest America. The city is wrapped with criminal activities, and you will be amongst a group of friends who start with their criminal venture as they rise the ranks to take control of the entire city. This is a story of a Startup illegal business company where the Saints will be committing all the crimes in the city.
Some users have reported stutter and lag issues with their very high-end systems even after launch. All of the games have their own set of issues at launch, such as getting stuck, freezing, crashing, stutter, and black screen issues. If you are facing the same issue for Saints Row, keep reading…

Test Rig Used
For testing purposes, I used a GTX 1060 with Ryzen 5 3600. RAM was 32 Gigs, with an SSD of 500GB which had Nvme support.
For Windows, I used a Windows 10 OS of 64bit. Some recordings were done using NVIDIA Shadowplay, Riva Tuner (For FPS Monitor) and MSI afterburner to support Riva Tuner.
I also tested out streaming using OBS for Saints Row 2022 and it worked fine for the above settings in the long run. Hopefully, you can stream the game, but I would suggest that you upgrade your rig if you are going for high-settings gameplay and streaming at the same time.
Some More Tips to Fix Lags and Stutter Issues
Meeting the System Requirements
Make sure you meet the minimum and recommended system requirements. We have covered in detail the system requirements starting from the minimum settings to the ultra settings. You can check it out here.
Here are the possible fixes that can fix Saint’s row lag and stuttering issues.
Both Nvidia and AMD have released the GPU Driver updates which are specially meant to build for the Saints Row game. So let’s check out the Update Details
- Nvidia Game Ready Driver v516.94
- AMD Adrenalin Edition 22.8.1
Latest Version of Windows Update
Remember that Saints Row does not support below Windows 10 64bit operating system. So there is no question of discussing if you have lower windows version than this. Update your windows 11 version to 21H2 or at least the Windows 10 version to 211H2 for a smooth Saints Row game experience.
Force Rechecking game files
Sometimes your anti-virus deletes or breaks your game files or your system fails to download a particular game file but does not send you any type of notification. Thus your game lags or creates bugs, glitches, or fps drop types problems. Rechecking the game files from your systems’ particular game clients will resolve the problem.
Since the game has been released on the Epic Games Platform you would first have to go to the Game library and drag your mouse to. Now a three-dotted option will be visible. Click on that and then click on verify.
Running as Administrator
- Head towards the Installation folder of the game
- Find saintsrow.exe file. Right-click on it and select the Compatibility tab
- Now check the box “Run this program as an administrator”
- Click apply and then ok to save the settings
Look for another drive location in your system
Oftentimes, your particular drive can get corrupted and that is why your game is not running well. Reinstall your game into another drive of your system and then try to run it.
Wait for the patches from the Developers
If all the above processes don’t work for you, wait for the developer patches. The game is quite graphics intensive and sometimes because of certain graphical issues, you might face issues with the game. So if nothing at all works then you will have to wait for the official developer patches. But make sure you have tried out every other fix that we suggested above.
That would be all from this guide. Leave your thoughts in the comment below if you face any issues during or after the settings and changes. Thanks for reading this guide on Saints Row 2022!
