FIFA 22 FUT Web/Companion App Not Working Fix

Welcome to this guide on how to troubleshoot/fix the FUT web/Companion app for FIFA 22. The companion app basically helps you in settings formations, checking SBCs, purchasing new content and packs, and other things as well. This was introduced to reduce the issue of players spending too much time on PC/Consoles. Now you can access all of these contents using a simple app.

The FUT Web App is an online extension where you can manage your FUT club via a web browser. It is a faster and more comfortable way to search for, sell and buy cards. It essentially just replicates the Ultimate Team homepage for you on a computer, but the benefits can be pretty high in terms of time saved and coins earned, for doing little more than you would in FUT anyway.

The problem arises when one cannot access/login to their respective accounts. For some reason, a lot of FIFA FUT players and general players cannot seem to use this app in the first place. So far, the most issue I have seen is receiving the codes on cell phones. They just don’t arrive at the correct time. There are some workarounds so do try these out if you are facing this issue as well.

FIFA 22 FUT Web/Companion App Not Working – How To Fix

How to Enter on the FUT 22 Web App?

Why you cannot get into the Web App

Early access to the FIFA 22 web app is not available to everyone. You need to fulfill a few conditions. Only returning FUT 21 players whose accounts are in good standing and have created their FUT clubs before August 1, 2021, gain access to it. Those who switched to other platforms, were banned, or had other actions taken on their account in FUT 21, won’t be able to play it. Those who don’t pre-order the game will have to log in on their console or PC at least once to continue using both apps after October 17 at 11:59 pm UTC.

Even if are eligible, you can get this message. That’s because the FIFA 22 Web App will become available on a rolling basis, and you probably will have to wait a few hours until it becomes released to everyone.

If you are a new player, you will need to play in the console first before you can access the Companion and FUT Web App. Creating a brand new FUT 22 account in EA Play will not give you access to the Web App. You will need to purchase a full copy of FIFA 22 to access the FUT Web App.

Verification Code on Mobile Devices

If you are not getting verification codes on your mobile device, I would suggest waiting at least 5 minutes before re-trying. Also, go to the settings for the app, and ONLY clear the cache for that. I have tried using ways2sms and other online services and I can get in the app fine. So the issue is mostly with the servers and the network. I hope they will fix this in the future.

Here is what the official support has to say about this issue:

Official FIFA 22 Support

Login Verification is a mandatory step before you can access the FIFA 22 Web App. If you never activated, just go to your Origin account here and enable it. Then, just confirm the email or sms they have sent to you, verify your FIFA Ultimate Team Secret question and answer and store your codes in a safe place. As simple as that. If you already did it in the past and you are using the same verified device, all will need is your EA account email address, password, and answer to your secret question.

Unfortunately, the confirmation codes can take longer than usual to be received when the Web App goes out. If it is your case, check if it isn’t in your spam box. If it’s not, change to mobile confirmation. If you don’t want to wait (it can take up several hours), we strongly suggest you use an app authenticator. You can see here how to do it.

Why can you open the Web App in other Platforms

Returning user rewards and good standing to access the Transfer Market are tied to your specific console account. So if you switch platforms or create a new account on the same platform, your access and rewards won’t carry over.

When you go to Settings, there is a ‘Change’ button on the top right corner that lets you change your persona. However, this is only shown if you have played FUT 21 on at least two different consoles. Otherwise, you will not see it and your Webstart progress will be tied to the console that is shown. The persona selector will default to the persona you are not currently logged into. The Web and Companion apps are not compatible with Nintendo Switch.

Other Methods to Use The FUT Companion App on Mobile Device

If you want to access the FIFA 22 Web App on your mobile device, you should use the internet browser. However, not all devices will be technically able.
Instead, we strongly recommend using the Companion App, the app designed specifically for mobile devices. Keep in mind that in order to work, you will have to access first the FIFA 22 Web App at least once.

If you are seeing a message saying ‘Resize the Window’, that’s because you need to increase the size of your web browser to display the content. Use CTRL- to zoom out until you see the whole screen.

Why Can’t you gain access To The Web/Companion App

If you had access to the FUT 22 Web App but no longer have, even if you haven’t made any change, you should know that EA Sports is blocking App access to all players that haven’t played FIFA 22 in the console until 11:59 pm GMT of October 17 (UK time). To keep using this App, you will need to buy the game and log in to FUT 22 on your console or PC at least once.

Those were some of the tips and fixes I could provide to you in this post for troubleshooting the FUT Companion App in FIFA 22. Most of this information was provided to me by the official team of EA support. That is all from this guide.
