In Grow Empire: Rome, You will be able to test your strategy skills and plan your battles in the game. I for one loved it more than I thought I would. Hence I decided to share some tips, cheats, and strategies for this game.
Speeding Up The Game
If you tap the play button in the top right side of the screen, it will speed things up a bit. I suggest that you always have it on, because it is much better to have it on all the time.
In my experience, this strategy works really well for moving through levels. It’s also less annoying than having to wait for so long for battles to unfold.
Picking The Correct Soldiers
Initially, you don’t have much of a choice, but later on you can choose which soldiers to send out to counter the enemy troops. Some soldiers have weak points against others, so I suggest you pick counter soldiers.
- Archers are strong versus Spearmen, but weak against Cavalry.
- Cavalry are strong versus Archers, but weak against Spearmen.
- Spearmen are strong against Cavalry, but weak against Archers.
- Swordsmen don’t have any strengths of weaknesses against other types of units.
They can turn the tide of battle in your favor if you counter the enemy troops, so I always recommend you upgrade them as much as you can. To counter the enemy troops, you can use the strengths and weaknesses of the units that I mentioned.
Under the wave bar on the top of the screen, you can see which troops the enemy has sent out.
Upgrading in the correct way
You can upgrade a lot of things in the game, but you have to do them in the right order to maximize your bonus. I suggest you upgrade:
- If you can, upgrade the wall to level 10 as quickly as possible, that would be the optimal way to go about here!
- Add a few points to the Towers.
- Adding all of the points into Wall will make it harder for a few units to make it through, and it will increase its longevity.
I personally think that the order should be like this: Walls, archers, towers, and catapults. The best thing about this is that I don’t use the catapults all that much, and having strong walls helps with defense quite a lot.
Spending your points in the correct places
You can spend the points in the general tab if you level up. If you want to deal with the game well, you can level up skills that synergize with that.
The Wall Archers damage and range are better when I upgrade walls and archers. They help my units deal with enemies even if they’re dead. If you like it, you can upgrade archers and spend points to make them even stronger.
Gain more gold by watching ads
You will be able to watch a short advertisement to claim some gold every now and then. You can get gold at every level and the higher you advance, the more gold you will get.
Invading Territories for extra gold
Some territories and their levels can be seen in the map tab. You can start at level 1 and go all the way to level 2. The more you upgrade, the more gold you will get, and this is good for earning passive gold by the minute.
Every conquered territory can be upgraded to a level 5 maximum if you capture it. It will count towards your offline earnings if you make profit while you are not in the game.
Finding the right balance of Combo
I had no idea that this particular combination would work so well to defend the city. However, after playing a few matches with this set-up, I have now found the best way to defend the city. Firstly, I’ve upgraded the wall as much as possible, while also keeping the Archers somewhat leveled up.
I’m using a wall that has an archery target that works with my general’s skills. And I’ve leveled up the spearmen so that they’ll fight off any incoming enemy.
I decided to do this as a test because the Spearmen have a good HP and can tank quite a bit. If you tap on the War Cry and Ballista arrows, you can take down enemies before they reach your gates.
