There are quite a few recipes in No Place Like Home. This guide shows you how to find them in a simple manner. All the information provided here is up to date as per the authors’ knowledge.
No Place Like Home – All Cooking Recipe Locations
All recipes can be found in golden or orange suitcases and can be seen on the map. The recipes are for convenience. Random ingredients can be put in the kitchen to make your own recipes. The amount of ingredients doesn’t matter as long as the stacks are bigger than required.
Mashed potatoes are a good example of this. You will always get mashed potatoes if you put 2 potatoes together, as the recipe is one stack of 2 potatoes. If you put in more than one stack of potatoes, there is no recipe for pet food.
If you find a combination of items that are actually a recipe, you’ll be able to get this recipe for free. The recipe item won’t be in the golden suitcase. There are three main recipes that you know from the start. They are:
- Pet Food
- Mashed Potatoes
- Tomato Soup
Farm Recipe Locations
Here are the farm recipes and their locations in the game:
Fries with Ketchup
Behind a 1-box ramp next to the waterfall
Sunny-Side Up
Near Rudy’s location on the farm, go up the ladder. The recipe is in the suitcase in the metal shed.
Basic Stuffed Pumpkin
Near Cornelius in the second section of the farm. Behind a two-box-ramp.
Village/Shore Recipe Locations
Eggplant Fricassee
The ruined house is in the first section of the village. Press the button inside the house to discover the underground. The suitcase has a recipe in it.
Scrambled Eggs with Truffle
In the first section of the village, you can cross the bridge on the left and go up a wooden ramp. The suitcase is located above an entrance to the underground and can be opened by going down the rocks.
Simple Salad
To get to the third section of the village, go right and follow the shore to the right before entering the door. There is a toxic tree that you will have to replace. You can go past it to find a suitcase with the recipe if you did that first.
Baked Apple
You can get to the far side of the tree in the third section of the village. There’s a ladder on it. You can climb it. There is a recipe in one suitcase.
Stuffed Pumpkin Deluxe
In the third section, you can find a tunnel. You can find an arena inside. The doors will open in a row if you press the button. Two suitcases can be found behind the third door as a reward. The recipe will be in this one.
Fruit Salad
In a fenced area on the shore in the fourth/last section, near the boat. The button can be found on the other side of the river next to it.
Poached Peach
You can cross the river between the two broken highway bridges in the fourth section of the village. Follow the second shoreline as far as you can. Continue to the right until you reach a fenced area. The button on the door is on the right side. The suitcase has the recipe in it.
Lonely Hills Recipe Locations
Peperonata
Hidden under some trash behind the first position of Frank.
Truffle Surprise
After entering Lonely Hills keep left and down until you reach the river. The suitcase with the recipe is on the left shore.
Grilled Vegetables
In the fourth section of Lonely Hills, enter the hole and climb down the ladder. You can find the suitcase with the recipe on the left-hand side of the room with the giant robots.
Popcorn
In the fifth section of Lonely Hills (excavation area, where you look for the funghi), look for the conveyor belt going all the way up to the wall. The suitcase with the recipe will be between a curve of said conveyor belt and the wall.
Ultimate Fruit Salad
In the sixth section of Lonely Hills, where you find Harold, go right past the train station ruins and follow the path to the right into a small hot spring. The suitcase will be on the far end of the left pond.
Veggie Juice
In the sixth section of Lonely Hills, follow the train tracks to the left. Once the lake to the left of the tracks has ended, turn left into a small alcove with robots and a cage with a duck. The suitcase with the recipe is behind the cage.
Olivier Salad
In the sixth section of Lonely Hills, follow the train tracks to the left. It leads to a door to the next section. Go through it and follow the stairs down. To the right, you can see a small pond. Left of the pond is a small alcove with a big robot. Defeat it and remove the trash to reveal the suitcase with the recipe.
Frozen Peaks Pumpkin Soup
On a wooden ledge just next to the door to the village. You can get onto the ledge by opening the 4-button-puzzle fence door in the area you can access just to the left of the wooden ledge.
Apple Pie
Behind some glass trash in the area to the right, just after entering Frozen Peaks from the village.
Onion Rings
In the first section of Frozen Peaks, in a small forest, that is locked behind a water-button door.
Bread
In the first section of Frozen Peaks, in a fenced of area, where the button is inside. You get inside by dropping into it from the ledge above. The ledge is accessible to the right behind Jay’s house.
Borch
Upon a platform on the tree behind the cabin, just before the door to the second section of Frozen Peaks.
Potato Salad
Just before the door to the second section of Frozen Peaks, go to the right, where the second cabin is. To the right of the cabin, you can build a bridge with 5 boxes to reach the small peninsula, where the suitcase is located.
Ice Cream
Just before the door to the second section of Frozen Peaks, go to the right, into the second cabin. The recipe is in a suitcase hidden under some trash.
Omelet
Behind a 3-timed-button door up the mountain to the left of the fast travel tunnel.
Garlic Bread
From the fast travel, the tunnel goes right and keeps right, until you come across a 4-button puzzle door. The suitcase is behind it.
Pancakes
On a platform under the distant waterfall in the second section of Frozen Peaks. You need to repair a cable further up the hill, to activate the moving platform to reach it.
Veggie Lasagne
Behind and between some large shipping containers near Lilly in the third section of Frozen Peaks.
Omelet with Jam
Next to the ruins of the railroad near Lily in the third section of Frozen Peaks.
Pizza Margherita
Hidden closely behind a giant mushroom next to some barrel scenery in the area opened by the “Destroy the Toxic Wall of Ice” quest. Close to the railroad support columns in the back of the area.
Ratatouille
In a fenced area in the area opened by the “Destroy the Toxic Wall of Ice” quest. The fence door can be opened with a water-activated button, which is hidden under trash on one of the railroad support columns.
Cookie
In a large metal shed on the right at the beginning of the last section of Frozen Peaks (the one that leads to the desert.
Cheese Fondue
On a ledge to the left, as you travel up the mountain to the radio tower in the last section of Frozen Peaks.
Cereal Breakfast
On the left of the radio tower on top of the mountain is the last section of Frozen Peaks, below a trash pile.
Poutine
Next to a tree at the beginning of the swamp portion of the last section of Frozen Peaks.
Eggplant Casserole
Inside a ruin next to a tree (same as Poutine) at the beginning of the swamp portion of the last section of Frozen Peaks.
Desert Recipe Locations
Watermelon Salad
In the first section of the desert, in a suitcase directly behind Jannet.
Hasselback Potatoes
Follow the path to the door of the first section in the desert. Follow the path until it is no longer visible, then turn right. Between a rock face and a cliff is where the suitcase will be located.
Goat Cheese Bruschetta
From the fast travel access, go left around the corner (under the bridge) and continue left. The suitcase is at the end of a crevice.
Info: This suitcase might be underwater if you repair the pipe close by before retrieving it. You will still be able to reach it, however.
Grilled Cheese
The dam controls are located in the last section of the desert. To get to the ravine, go to the left around the boulders, and through the unfinished building. The ravine leads to an unfinished building and a staircase. There is a metal ring in the ground to the right of some wooden walls. There is a suitcase in the middle.
